Very interesting. Thanks for sharing your info about Storygraph. I'll have to check it out for my ARC When Things Go Missing. Have you tried Library Things? It's similar, with monthly promotions where you offer so many free copies of your book and readers can sign up. At the end of the month, they give you the email addresses to send you book to. I signed up to give away 15 books, but got 35 replies. The administrators cull the list because readers are only allowed so many free books, and many sign up for dozens. My final count is 16. Just got the notice today, so I'll be sending emails to each. I'll let you know the results, If you like.
Yes, please. No one has left a review yet! I'm going to send another email next month to chase up and to let them know my next novel is coming soon. If there's no response in 2 months, I'll consider it a waste of time and money.
The publishing promotion was interesting information, James. Thanks for sharing that. There's so much to learn about getting your book before readers' eyes. Also, I really enjoyed the flash fiction piece. Loved the attention to detail and the twist at the end. :)
This is very interesting James. Are you also using advanced reading copies (ARCs) given away to users of Amazon and Goodreads, with the promise of a review?
Not to disagree, but I googled and they said you can. The reason I'm so interested is the more ARCs the more reviews, the more reviews, the more the book looks like it's selling.
Looking like you are selling is extremely important. A large segment of buyers will automatically ignore books with few reviews.

Lovely piece James, another side to your writing
Thanks, Mandi.

Nope. My understanding is that we can't do either in the UK
